C&A Named Among Best Places to Work

We've just received some exciting news! For the second year in a row, our company has been recognized as one of Omaha’s Best Places to Work. This annual competition, sponsored by the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce and Baird Holm, recognizes a select number of companies based on employee surveys which measure employee satisfaction and engagement. C&A, parent company of AurStaff, has been named in the category of organizations with more than 250 employees.

• AurStaff's wellness committee, AurHealth, hosted the 6th Annual Health Fair last week. With more than 47 health and wellness vendors and nearly 300 attendees throughout C&A, the 2010 Health Fair was C&A's biggest and most successful. Check out our photo slideshow!   #
• C&A Industries, parent company of AurStaff, hosted a biscuits and gravy breakfast fundraiser benefiting the 2010 NAMI Walk. A total of $577.75 was raised with all proceeds going directly to the walk as items for the breakfast were generously donated from various C&A employees. A special thank you goes to Vince P. for the homemade biscuits & gravy, as well as the other volunteers who helped organize the breakfast! #
• As people live longer, more of them are also working longer—sometimes because they have to, but frequently because they want to. A study from the Pew Research Center found that 38 percent of participants age 62 or older say they may delay their retirement because of the current recession. However, 54 percent of employees 65+ say they’re still working because they want to. The oldest working American may be Jack Borden, a 101-year-old Texas lawyer. According to the CNN Web site, Borden continues to put in a 40-hour work week, arriving at his office at 6:30 most mornings and working until about 4 p.m. (though he takes a 45-minute nap in the afternoon, per his doctor’s instructions). #
